Combining outdoor education with adventure activities

CastleRock Adventure has multiple accommodation options including a
fully equipped self contained Lodge, a fully equipped Woolshed and
Camping as overflow from the Woolshed or as part of a programme.

Glentui Meadows, nestled in a native beech forest 50 minutes from Christchurch airport, is the perfect setting for school, sport, conference, wedding and special-interest groups. We can accommodate up to 165 people – from self-contained apartments to bunk rooms. Your stay can be fully catered or self-catered in our commercial kitchen. Activities for you and/or your group include: canyoning, abseiling, orienteering, archery, team building and bush walks. Our complex also boasts two large conference rooms and a large dining hall.
We can provide 1 hour guided group tours of the prison to suit your age group. Alternatively, we run a 2-hour Junior Programme featuring an historical tour, scavenger hunt, fingerprinting and games. Children can enter the cells, visit the hanging yard and hear about the secret tunnel, ghosts and lighthouse. Seated areas are provided for morning tea or lunch. Excellent for exchange students or students studying other languages are our audio tours in 15 different languages.
Napier Prison is just a few minutes walk to the town centre and Marine Parade.

ActUpStar offers exciting and fun plays for children, teenagers and young adults. Playmarket issues and manages performance licences and payments for all ActUpStar plays. ActUpStar plays are fun, exciting and full of action for children, teenagers and young adults. We offer twenty six play titles as diverse as Vampires and Zombies, Touch Sevens, Rudolph’s Deering Christmas Escape to Book Clubs, Sports Teams, Dance Classes. Our plays contain speaking, non-speaking and support roles to suit the abilities of the performers. They are of varying lengths and can be easily adapted to suit performance needs. They can be used in drama, theatre or school performances. Depending on acting skills and performance objectives our plays can be used by primary, intermediate or secondary schools, performing arts or theatre groups.

NZ Surf Academy objective is to teach and develop surfing skills for Primary, Intermediate, Secondary & International Schools. We will educate students on both beach safety & environmental awareness. Our lessons and activities encourage good teamwork and group cohesion to provide a positive, supportive and fun learning environment.
Objectives • Increase ‘beach safety’ awareness through experiencing the enjoyment of learning to surf. • To give children and young adults the confidence to be active and have fun in the ocean. • To educate & encourage students that surfing is for everyone regardless of size, skill and ability.
