Students will experience first-hand and interactive learning in an authentic environment. All programme options are activity based, designed to suit all stages and styles of learning and all link clearly to the Social Studies Curriculum strands.
We have programmes for both High School and Primary Students
We offer customised programmes for Years 9 – 13, as well as tertiary programmes. These include Geography, Drama, English, Tourism, Photography, Food and Fabric Technology and of course, History – a fabulous insight into New Zealand’s past especially the establishment of Auckland as our early capital and the settlement of the whole area.
Primary students love delving into early colonial life in New Zealand through hands-on and interactive role-play experiences. We offer a unique EOTC programme involving the technological advancements and inventions made by the early settlers which include construction and engineering, agriculture, food tech, natural medicines, textiles and fabrics. We show how archaeological discoveries of the Fencible Period have helped us understand the lives that early settlers led.
Parents and teachers should also check out our popular holiday programmes and Howick Historical Village is a unique special events venue suitable for children’s birthday parties to weddings and corporate events.
