Drive away those cravings with these natural juice recipes

Juice removes the fibre from the fruit and vegetables allowing easier absorption of its nutrients through the stomach lining and so feeds the body very quickly with what it really needs. Once satisfied your system is less likely to react to all the triggers of aromas and visuals of food coming out of cafes, bakeries and fast food outlets.

Why not eat the whole fruit you ask? Often all the fibre in fruits and vegetables will result in the excretion of many of the vitamins and minerals contained within the fruit that are going to satisfy you and dull the cravings. We can also drink eight oranges easier than we can eat them.

The following juice recipe should also provide great spleen and hence immune system support.

The following juice recipe combines an array of yellow and orange, food colours that are also associated with spleen health in Chinese medicine, but most importantly this juice should provide you with a massive hit of vitamins and minerals, specifically vitamin C.

Refreshing & Calming Ice Tea
– to reduce Candida

This is a great little drink to have sitting at your desk or on your dinner table. It’s also got some lovely alkaline attributes to help fight out of control candida.
Some of the side effects of too much candida in the system is bloating, flatulence, being always hungry no matter how inactive you are and hand in hand with this is a severe lack of energy plus of course that nasty little number Thrush! Normal sugary drinks just feed candida which is a cause of Thrush.

This is also good drink to get down you after a course of anti-biotics.

Here is my favourite recipe but you can change it round to suit your own tastebuds but
remember to always leave the sugar in the bowl for someone else.

Ingredients:

  • 4 lemons (peeled)
  • 2 Tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 Tablespoon of raw enzyme active manuka honey
  • Fresh Mint or Basil Leaves
  • A piece of fresh ginger according to taste
  • 1 Apple
  • 1 pot of chilled green or white tea
  • 2 teaspoons of ground black pepper or a
    pinch of Cayenne
  • Ice
  • 1 litre of water

Directions:If you have a juicer:
Juice lemons apple and ginger together
No juicer:
Finely grate the apple and ginger and squeeze the lemons over the top Dissolve the honey in to warm water, but not hot or you will destroy its antiseptic properties.
Tear the herbs into the mix and all remaining ingredients. If you have a blender it’s always nice to crush the mix to give a different texture with the ice.
Feel free to add some slices of lemon/lime. Cinnamon is also a nice touch.

Enjoy!
