Monopoly rolls dice in Auckland


	Skyrocketing property values might suggest to anyone living south of the Bombay Hills that Auckland’s real estate market is a giant game of Monopoly. So they won’t be surprised to hear that the sprawling Supercity is getting its own version of the board game to be released in October. Auckland Mayor Len Brown has asked residents to pitch in to vote for their favourite landmarks and streets to feature on the board which will replace the iconic London real estate dotted around the original board, sold since 1935. Mayor Brown said places such as the Auckland Art Gallery, Takapuna Beach, Titirangi Village, the Civic Theatre and Waiheke Island were all worthy of inclusion. Britomart train station and the New Lynn Transport Interchange could be the train stations on the board. Also featured will be Auckland-themed Community Chest and Chance cards. Game manufacturer Winning Moves is behind the new version on Monopoly. Voting will be open until May 24 on the Auckland Monopoly Facebook page or by emailing info@winningmoves.com.au.
