100 Things by Masayuki Sebe
As the title suggests, on each double page there are 100 things for
young readers to count. That is not all though as the book also
encourages readers to use their observation and counting skills to
find groups within the 100 things, whether it is how many brown mice
there are in 100 mice or finding a rabbit in a flock of 100 sheep.
Readers will also be entertained by the little visual jokes on each
page and there are enough variations in each picture that teachers
can add their own tasks for children too. Through this simple book,
children over the age of three can count to 100 repeatedly, look for
sets of ten, discuss the different colours and animals, and see how
each spread leads on to the next.
In the finale, Masayuki Sebe brings everything together, while on
the last page, he will have the young readers going back through the
book, searching for things they have missed.
It is a very entertaining and enjoyable book that will keep children
entertained for hours. The more you look at the book, the more you
see. There are actually dozens of stories and some great
interactions in a picture book that on the surface is about
counting. It is challenging, artistic and fun, helping children to
develop their cognitive and problem solving skills in an enjoyable
way.

Dinosaurs Galore
written and illustrated by Masayuke Sebe
Dinosaurs Galore is a collection of
puzzles and games for children featuring bright, colourful cartoon
dinosaurs of every size and shape. Some of the puzzles are harder
than others but they will all help young readers to develop
observation skills.
Children who enjoy searching for hidden animals, matching species,
reading coded messages, finding their way through mazes and spotting
differences will particularly love this book. There is very little
text (just giving instructions on how to solve each puzzle or game)
and it is in large format to make it easy for little ones to read
and understand.
RRP $19.99 (paperback) or $32.99 (hardcover)
