This book starts when Mercy wakes to find herself on a school bus bound for the small town of Paradise. It is a place where everyone knows each other’s business, or thinks they do, but it would seem Mercy is not the only one harbouring secrets.

In Paradise, Mercy meets Ryan, whose sister was kidnapped two years previous and is now presumed dead. When another girl disappears, Mercy and Ryan know they must act before time runs out. This might not be so easy, as not only do they have to worry about the mortal world but a host of angels are out for Mercy’s blood and want to punish her for a crime she can’t remember. To make matters worse, her dreams are being haunted by the desperate pleas of her beloved Luc and she must ultimately decide between Lucifer and the boy who risks everything for her love.

Mercy is a great read for those of you who want a paranormal thriller ands are sick of them consisting of love stories with vampires, or traditionally demonic creatures less interested in killing than having a romance with humans. Mercy is a combination of tough characters including tough angels and a strong central female character, mystery and justice, with a little romance thrown in. It is the first book in which promises to be an exciting new series for young adults.
